Description

So, this is my fantroll. Ancestor-era of sorts, so her clothe's design is based on the kind of designs the Ancestors had. I imagined her to be alive in an era where there are space travel and explorations, but the adults are still in the planet, so some time between the Signless and Summoner's revolutions. That's why there are also mentions to her hive, even if she's a lot older than most fantrolls!

Your name is KELSIN SELTAN, but not for long, as you already are at the age when you should start thinking about a NEW NAME. A sufficiently impressive title to use instead of your fairly generic moniker, capable to instill fear into the hearts of foes. Unfortunately, nothing truly exciting or impressive or fearsome enough happened in the short ELEVEN SWEEPS you have lived to warrant a respectable title. Yet.

You have – and have had – a variety of INTERESTS, many of them related to PLAYING PRETEND. You are no more interested in silly fantasy for wigglers, though. Your games have grown up with you, and nowadays you prefer GAMBLING, THE GROWN UP KIND OF CARD GAMES and BETTING, as well as CLIMBING UP THE SOCIAL LADDER as much as your blood allows.

Influenced by the ANNOYING MIGRATORY CYCLES of your four-eyed featherbeast lusus, you took an interest in star-based navigation, a passion you pursue with the help of boatloads of books and your own fleet, which is actually quite MODEST, consisting of only TWO SHIPS. It should be bigger, as any respectable troll of you caste’s if they choose to spend their lives in the ocean, but more ships mean you would have to be around EVEN MORE LOWBLOOD SCUM, and you do not know if your delicate nerves could handle another rustblood filth staining your expensive tapestry.

You have dreams too, and big ones. You long to leave the seas one day; Leave Alternia altogether, and sail among the stars, discovering new planets to explore and paths to uncover. You already know the position of the stars in the Alternian sky like you know the palms of your hands and the comfort of your dear lusus’s plumage; you now want new challenges and fresh knowledge in the great beyond.

However, you have neither the necessary connections nor the blood – you hate to admit, but it is a rather teal-ish hue instead of true cerulean - to make it to one of the Empire’s spaceships, especially in the position you deserve. In the space as well as in the seas, while helmsmen are usually of the lower castes, Navigators and Shipmasters do not come under blue, which your cerulean is not dark enough to pass by, unless rich, well connected and proven to be skillful in their craft. No good would come if you joined the ranks now, so young you still smell of the brooding caves and without the solid support of the higher classes in and off ground helping you to push trough limitations in your own biology. So, you gather your resources, work in your connections, and study hard to be recognized.

Between buying the Highbloods’ attentions, maintaining the luxuriousness of your fleet and losing magnificently in a few misplaced bets, you burn trough your resources awful quick. There are no problems, though. You still have hundreds of sweeps ahead of you, and you are patient.

Due to your efforts to fall in the graces of the higher bloods, you gained a reputation among your social cycles of being a trustworthy advisor and, even if you have not been asked to auspisticize for anyone higher than your own blood color, you are sure it will be any time now, you can feel it. You prefer to keep your other quadrants strictly private, though.

In the perigees when you lusus is away, you like to set your feet on the ground and go back to your old hive, a palace in the middle of a forest of low trees, inspired by the nests of your lusus’s species. Your main observatory/respiteblock is installed in the highest tower, and it is where you spend most of your time, sharping your knowledge of the stars. It is, actually, the only place you can safely spend any amount of time, as the rest of your hive is filled with piles and piles of ASTRONOMICAL CHARTS, STAR GLOBES, ACCURATE IN SCALE REPRESENTATIONS OF MANY OF THE EMPIRE’S FINEST SPACESHIPS, RANDOM CRAP, and TREASURE you collected from ABANDONED SHIPS, or ships you and your crew RECENTLY MADE ABANDONED.

You have no trollTag; in fact, trollian would not be created until many sweeps after your demise. If you had one, however, you would like it to portray your extreme skills in CHEATING AT CARD GAMES, cleverness, and your desire to point the correct way, literally or metaphorically; something like nimbleGuidance would sound delightful. Fetch Modi are too something unfamiliar to you, but if you knew what are those for, you most likely would choose something that allowed you to group objects based on shape and function, interconnected in ways to create figures to represent their concept. Something in the kind of the STAR MAPS you study so devotedly. You do have a handy weapon near you, however, to defend your ship of those other awful pirates and deal with the occasional annoying mutinies among your crew, and it is your beloved MORNING STAR.

You ¬ike to write with proper capita¬ization and punctuation. You a¬so ¬ike to use a representation of one of your symbo¬’s axis instead of the ¬etter “L” when writing your ¬etters, journa¬s and maps.
